Collaborative Partnerships is a thriving Occupational Therapy practice on the Sunshine Coast Queensland. We are seeking a experienced and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant with a passion for Early Intervention for children with Autism and other disabilities. This position involves the following duties:

  • Providing allied health assistant early intervention services to a range of paediatric clients of different ages and with differing levels of functioning and ability within their own homes.

  • Working closely with parents to support children's functioning within the home context. 

  • Working under the direct and sometimes indirect supervision of Occupational Therapists/Speech Therapists/Psychologists and following set treatment plans in home-based therapy sessions. 

  • Receiving training from a range of affiliated allied health providers who comprise the particular child's therapy team. 

  • Completing thorough progress notes to be shared with the therapy team after consultations. 

The successful candidate for this position must have the following:

  • A full drivers licence and reliable road-worthy transport.

  • First Aid and CPR certification

  • Working with Children Check/Blue Card

  • A minimum of 1 years experience in working with children with special needs (i.e. as an Early Intervention worker, ABA therapist, teacher, childcare worker, etc)

  • Must have availability for at least 16 hours per week. 

The following additional attributes will be very highly regarded and advantageous.

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field (allied health, education, etc)

  • Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance. 

  • Experience in an Early Intervention program (ABA, ESDM, DIR Floortime, etc)

Remuneration 

Position is casual with flexibility for hours worked. Full time hours (with casual loading) are likely to be available over time and the hourly rate is very competitive ($50+ per hour following probation).
